KYU KUMITE

Kumite (wrapping hands) are two person sets which simulate a fight. It 's the one opportunity the practitioner has to go all out and test their skill.

SET #1

Attacker: step through punch to the solar plexus / step through punch to the solar plexus

Defender: outside circle block / outside circle block / punch to kidney

SET #2

Attacker: step through punch to the solar plexus / step through punch to the solar plexus

Defender: inside circle block / outside palm-heel block / punch to face

SET #3

Attacker: step through punch to the solar plexus / step through punch to the solar plexus

Defender: outside palm-heel block / double step back and with the same arm - outside circle block / front kick to knee

SET #4

Attacker: side kick to stomach / round house kick to the side / club attack to head

Defender: outside circle block / trap and throw leg over to the side / knee to elbow block with shin or arm in sanchin arm position / club attack bock (hiraken) same as kanshiwa bankai / step in elbow and riken

SET #5

Attacker: double step punch rear foot / step through front kick / step through round house kick to the side/ step through round house kick to the side

Defender: hiraken (block) / same arm low block / sanchin arm position w/ a post block / sanchin arm position w/ a post block - trap with the posting arm and throw leg over to the side and take down / punch to head

Attacker: remember to step through on all attacks except the first move in #5

Defender: Remember all blocks are off the front foot
